Kafue Gorge Lower (KGL), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate, has invested in tangible development projects across the surrounding chiefdoms to enhance the social and economic well-being of local communities. The company’s CSR initiatives focus on delivering lasting value by supporting key sectors that directly impact livelihoods:

Kafue Gorge Lower Community Development Corporation (KGLCDC)

KGL established the KGLCDC as a special purpose vehicle to coordinate and implement sustainable community development programs. The corporation promotes inclusive growth through partnerships with traditional leaders, government, and local communities—ensuring lasting social, economic, and environmental impact.

KGL constructed a 500-capacity boarding school with modern laboratories to support quality education in the region.

Kasengo Primary School Electrification

First electrification since 1946, new classroom block, renovations, and power connections for staff houses.

20 Boreholes in Naluama Chiefdom

Enhanced access to safe and reliable water sources, improving health and reducing waterborne diseases.

Royal and Cultural Infrastructure

Construction of the Kuta and fencing of Malimbo Royal Grounds, and renovation of Chakwela Makumbi ceremony grounds.

Chipapa Secondary School Expansion

New classrooms, labs, dormitories, library, staff housing, and electrification to enhance education quality.

Dams in Naluama Chiefdom

Two dams under construction to improve water access, grazing, and climate resilience.

Kaabo Health Centre Upgrade

Expanding a small health post into a fully equipped health centre serving nine villages.
